Paul Grundy
Professional Development Director, Shadow Finance Director
A well known and widely respected research scientist with the Queensland Department of Primary Industries, Paul is also the Technical Lead with CottonInfo for both IPM and Northern Australia.
Starting his career in Biloela in Central Queensland as an entomologist researching Helicoverpa sp. and silverleaf whitefly management, Paul shifted focus in 2007 towards agronomic research on maximising the potential of Bollgard cotton in the tropics. In 2012 he relocated to Toowoomba and has continued to lead pest management and agronomy research on improving cotton production throughout the industry, from Griffith to Kununurra. He particularly enjoys engaging with growers and their advisors to help solve production and pest management challenges, and was integral in identifying management options to combat climatic risk in Central Queensland that has resulted in significant yield increases for the region.
Paul is an active member on a range of Cotton Australia panels (TIMS, BT Tech & Biosecurity) and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science Horticulture with a major in Plant Protection and PhD in Entomology. He is a recent graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
Paul joined the Crop Consultants Australia Board in 2025.
